Hey dude, I had a squiz around the PPV display on level 4 (cannot remember the name of this space??) Once again i must say that lurid green is choice. I liked that some of the initial goals/aims/thoughts were there to be read, it was a quick and direct way to give observers a lot of background info in short punches. Way to go!
Better still to fcous upon the gift you have - YOU surely have one. And that is a joy in conversation, and in being with people. You may think this is a waste of time - but it is something you are good at. And it is an asset in community work. See Robert Chambbers on PRA: is that your calling?
Among the many things they - dead white males - destroyed in the last century was the fundamental nature of human society: that it is face to face and we feed off each others energies. Face to face. They imagined (daft people) that work was the pre-eminent thing for 'good' humans. And thereby hangs the tale of the loss of our civilization. A loss of laughter. back from India I marvelled at how when you smile on the street in India you get a smile back: face to face society. Here when you smile on the street people look away: it is wrong to smile. But on the tram people smiled and it was good!!
Also wrong to be on the street, to be talking, to be .. You have to be making things, working - r we ants?
This is your third year and you will probably continue to listen to all your friends who say - talk less and do more. All I will say is that these people are not your friends. I say give your time away to all who ask. Go do more of the refugee thing. Connect with your inner happiness. Dont try to become something - just be!
I agree we need you Kate, after a good chat with you no matter what it is I always leave better and happier, you seem to listen and understand, there’s no girls in second year that I can sit and chat to and my troubles ease. I know what ever project that you work on will be good as if you reach problems you look for answers or a way over the bump. I worry about doing mediocre work in studio and I think the worry took over so there was no more freedom only stress. Thank goodness there is still time to redo things and slow down and the most important thing and make time for me to do what I like. I think that we should hold a playgroup meeting this Friday what do you think?

friday = critical mass outside the state library, which i will be at, around 5. if playgroup is sometime just before that, it would be good
